Product Description

CoCrMo alloys (CoCrMo Powder)are well known for their biocompatibility and high wear resistance & corrosion resistance. It is an ideal material for medical implants, such as hip and knee replacements, dental implants, and other orthopedic devices.

CoCrMo powders can commonly be used in additive manufacturing (3D printing) to produce custom medical implants, such as joint replacements and dental prosthetics.

Truer CoCrMo powders with particle size 15-45um or 15-53um, produced by gas atomizing process, are better used in selective laser melting (SLM) to create complex and high-precision medical parts. It is also used in thermal spraying processes.

Truer can also provide various particle size to tailor to specific application from customers.

Chemical Composition:

Cobalt alloy powder chemical compositions

Particle Size:

<45μm, <53μm, 15-45μm, 15-53μm, 45-150μm. (particle size can be customized upon request).

Mechanical Properties:

CoCrMo parts can reach tensile strength >1150MPa, yield strength >660MPa, hardness >300HV10 and elongation >21% in XY direction after heat treatment.

Applications

How we play a role in the industry

HIP Technology

Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) technology works by placing the product in a closed container, filling it with inert gas and sintering or densifying the product at a very high temperature (usually close to the forging temperature of the material) and at a very high pressure (usually 100 – 140 MPa). This allows the product to be sintered or densified.

MIM Technology

MIM products can be complex in shape, precise in size, high in strength and produced automatically in large quantities, and can significantly reduce the complexity and cost of traditional metalworking

SLM Technology

SLM, also known as Selective Laser Melting, is similar in principle to SLS in that a laser is used to melt and solidify metal powder in a specified area, which is then moulded in a layer-by-layer stack.

EBM Technology

Electron beam melting refers to a vacuum melting method in which the kinetic energy of a high speed electron beam stream is converted to heat as a heat source for melting metals under high vacuum. The abbreviation is EBM.
