Kovar Fe-Ni-Co Spherical Powder

Kovar alloy is a specialized functional material, not a general-purpose one because of its unique thermal expansion properties and low expansion coefficient which match that of borosilicate glass and alumina (ceramic) over a wide temperature from room temperature to 500℃. So It can be found wherever a reliable metal-to-glass or metal-to-ceramic seal is needed in the area of electronics and semiconductors.

Kovar powder can be produced by gas atomization process to get fine and spherical powder, our common particle size 15-45um, 15-53um and 20-63um is suitable for laser powder bed fusion. Its chemical composition mainly contains iron, nickel and cobalt. The specific ratio of Ni and Co is what gives Kovar its matched expansion behavior.
