Product Description

AlMg5 is a binary aluminium magnesium alloy. This alloy belongs to the 5000-series family of
aluminum alloys with excellent corrosion resistance and good weldability. It corresponds to UNS
A95056 (aluminum 5056).
The AlMg5 powder is an increasingly important feedstock for laser-based additive manufacturing
(LPBF). But the evaporable Mg constituent is the primary factor causing powder spatter and
denudation.
Our AlMg5 powder is produced by vacuum gas atomization process with excellent sphericity,
flowability and lower oxygen content which is ideal for additive manufacturing (3D printing).

HIP Technology

Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) technology works by placing the product in a closed container, filling it with inert gas and sintering or densifying the product at a very high temperature (usually close to the forging temperature of the material) and at a very high pressure (usually 100 – 140 MPa).
