H11 Tool Steel Powder

H11 tool steel powder –H11-A is martensitic, iron-chromium, hot-work, air-hardenable steel powder product with chemistry similar to UNS T20811, ASTM A681, SAE J437, AMS 6487 and Werkstoff No. 1.2343 / X37CrMoV 5-1.

H11 is known for exceptional toughness, high impact resistance, and good red hardness, used in aerospace (landing gear) and hot tooling (dies, punches) via additive manufacturing (AM) like Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) and Directed Energy Deposition (DED).

Our H11 tool steel powders can be produced by gas atomized or PREP processes to get spherical shape.

Typical particle size of our H11 powder includes: -20um, -25um, -30um, -45um for MIM or Binder jetting; 15-45um, 15-53um, 20-63um for L-PBF; 45-105um for E-PBF; 50-150um for DED. Other particle size range also can be sieved according to customers’ needs.

HIP Technology

Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) technology works by placing the product in a closed container, filling it with inert gas and sintering or densifying the product at a very high temperature (usually close to the forging temperature of the material) and at a very high pressure (usually 100 – 140 MPa). This allows the product to be sintered or densified.
