309L Stainless Steel Powder

309L powder is low carbon austenitic stainless steel powder. Its chemical composition is designed to provide superior performance in high temperature environments and when
joining dissimilar metals.

Compared to 304L (18% Cr, 8% Ni), 309L contains significantly higher chromium and nickel, which dramatically improves its heat resistance and ability to handle thermal
cycling. And it has low intergranular corrosion sensitization after welding or high temperature exposure due to its low carbon content (<0.03%).

Our 309L powders can be produced by gas atomized or PREP processes to get excellent spherical shape suitable for AM application, like Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) and
Directed Energy Deposition (DED).

Typical particle size of our 309L powder includes: 15-45um, 15-53um, 20-63um for LPBF; 45-105um for E-PBF; 50-150um for DED. Other particle size range also can be
sieved according to customers’ needs.
