MA 6000 ODS Superalloy Powder
MA 6000 is a ODS nickel based superalloy powder. It has the secondary recrystallization behaviour as mechanically alloyed ODS material.
It is one kind of an alloy to combine two distinct strengthening mechanisms, nanoscale oxide depression and precipitation hardening within a single material.
Unlike traditional superalloys produced by gas atomization or PREP. MA 6000 cannot be produced by conventional melting process because Y2O3 is immiscible with molten nickel and tends to segregate severely. It is manufactured via mechanical alloying (MA) to disperse insoluble oxide particles uniformly throughout the metallic matrix.
Pre-alloyed nickel based powder (containing Ni, Cr, Co, W, Mo, Al, Ti, Ta, C, B, Zr) is blended with nano-Y2O3 powder (10-50nm particle size) in a high-energy ball mill under an inert argon atmosphere for 20-60hrs.
